Quick 15 minute IPhone 3G experience
We were out shopping for school clothes last night and I took a break from the excitement to walk over to the Apple store in the mall. I wanted to take a look at the web browsing experience of my photography site from the IPhone 3G.
The company that does my hosting has an IPhone specific interface and while it kinda works on the Blackberry Pearl that I have, it really is supposed to shine on the IPhone.
So I wandered on over, and waited in line for about five minutes until an IPhone became available. I then tried to browse the website with it's IPhone specific interface.
First of all, I didn't think that the 3G of the IPhone was all the fast, at least any faster than my Edge connection on my Pearl.
Second, I didn't particular think that the IPhone web browser was all that great.
My limited usage of the on screen keyboard told me that it really is a horrible user interface to have to type URLs in. I can't imagine typing in emails using this on screen keyboard.
I'm really glad I decided to go Blackberry instead of the IPhone.
I've heard that once you go Blackberry, you'll never go back. I believe it.
